Eva was born in Norway and has lived in various countries. She has been living in Houston for the last 5 years. She has worked as an artist for over 15 years and studied at the Glassell School of Art, Museum of Fine Art Houston.
Eva's work creates narratives by exploring a theme through a chosen word. Some themes are derived from current events, others from her life experiences and state of mind. Recently, Eva has begun experimenting with oil sticks as a new media. These images reflect emotions, seasons and life events.
From Eva, "To paint is a good way of expressing feelings and emotions. A single word can become very powerful and meaningfull when combined with colors, patterns and symbols. It can create different emotions for different people. This is what I search for in my pieces, to excite the viewer using words, colors and symbols."
Eva's work can be viewed in person every Secon Saturday at Silver Street Studios.
